演讲人介绍:

    天明二郎教授在氧化物半导体光电器件、石墨烯生长、声表面波器件及纳米光学器件等研究领域取得了极其突出的成绩,先后在NaturePhys. Rev. Lett.Appl. Phys. Lett.IEEE Transactions on Electron Deviced等国际顶尖期刊和高水平期刊上发表SCI论文156篇,解决了用于通信领域光电器件的相关技术瓶颈问题,其研究成果受到国际同行的广泛关注,与他人一起撰写了半导体领域的相关书章节8本。先后担任了国际著名会议SSDM'96, CLEO/Pacific Rim '97, FST'99, IEEE/ LEOS (Lasers and Electro-Optics Society, 19962000)的主席以及国际SCI期刊Journal of Surface Analysis Applied Surface Science的编辑及客座编辑。于1998-2003年、2011-2014分别以首席科学家的身份先后承担了日本JST的重大项目和日本-西班牙JST-MICINN国际合作项目。为表彰天明二郎教授在半导体器件领域作出的突出贡献,201406月,日本国立静冈大学授予其名誉教授称号。

 


Abstract:
  Recently, novel low energy-consumption and energy-harvesting devices are expected in terms of efficient renewable system. We have developed remote-plasma-enhanced MOCVD for ZnO-based alloy  materials system in the 1.6-3.75 eV range. Our demonstrations on MQW LEDs, Schottky PDs and Schottky PVs indicate a potential of ZnO-based optical devices and material. In addition, the results on graphene system directly-grown by alcohol CVD for transparent conducting films are also discussed.
    Before getting into the above main topics, I would like to briefly introduce my personal research history in Nippon telegraph and telephone (NTT) laboratories, referring the issues in the journals and text books. I have engaged in the research and developments for telecommunication devices and materials : surface acoustic wave devices, Josephson-junction superconducting devices, III-V semiconductors MOVPE, optoelectronic integrated circuits, InGaAs strained semiconductor laser diode pumping sources and InGaAs strained quantum dots for the next optical devices and qubits. In Shizuoka University, I have mainly studied novel ZnO-based and other nano- materials (including graphene) growth for LEDs, PDs, PV applications with undergraduates, graduate students and post doctoral fellows from domestic as well as China and India. I am temporarily serving Universidad Politecnica de Madrid (UPM) as a visiting professor and an external adviser for PhD candidates.
